Organizing Your Wardrobe Space

Whether you're a student, an office worker, or a homemaker, everyone deserves a well-organized wardrobe space.  Not only will it save you from being late for your appointment, class or meeting but it will also allow you to have a proper inventory of your own personal things.  In that way, you can properly account for the things that you need to get rid of, things you want to donate or things you want to reinvent.

In my case, keeping a well-organized wardrobe allows me to have a peace of mind.  I am a person who hates clutter so I always make it a point to arrange my clothes and other personal things neatly.  To achieve this, it is very important that you sort out your clothes according to their use.  Office clothes must be situated in one row, sports clothes in another and casual clothes must have their own space too.  There should also be a designated area in the closet for your party clothes. This way, it won't be difficult for you to get them once you need them.  Those that are often use must be placed on the most visible area, probably in the front row.

I also take time to fix my husband's closet once in a while.  I made sure that plain shirts are separated from polo shirts and long sleeves shirts and that slacks are tucked neatly.  Some clothes are bulky though like those Motorcycle jackets for men so you have to decide whether you want to fold them neatly or to hang them.  If you have an ample space in your closet, hanging them would be a better option.  Motorcycle apparel sometimes can be very expensive especially when it comes in a complete set so proper care and storage must be properly observed.

Fixing your wardrobe space or closet is as important as choosing your wardrobe. You should be careful in choosing the clothes that you wear as this, most of the time defines your personality. We used to shop clothes from reputable stores, not necessarily branded but we make sure that they are of good quality.  For those riding gear and accessories, I recommend BikeBandit.com.

The only thing that puts us into limits sometimes, when it comes to our wardrobe space is the size of our room.  However, if you are creative enough, you will be able to design this to accommodate all your stuff.  There are lots of storage solutions for small spaces and you may find a lot of inspirations from the internet.  You may even consider DIY if you are concerned about your budget.  In my case, I even recycle and repurpose things around the house.

Organizing my own wardrobe space has always been a challenge to me but I would say that it's also an enjoyable experience.

Entertainment Room

My daughter has been hinting me for the longest time that she wanted to have an entertainment room in the house or if not a room, at least an area where we could place a home theater, a widescreen TV, a basic sound system with all those surrounds and speakers that would provide us of course, a totally relaxing experience. I think that was a good idea. Nowadays you have to make your home a comfortable sanctuary for every member of the family especially for the kids so you could at least keep them at home most of the time.  Providing them with something that would make them stay home is definitely a good idea.  Chanced upon this design and I think this is doable.

Some teens and young adults though are spending most of the time on the internet so providing a PC or a laptop on the area or on their own respective rooms would be a plus factor.  Nowadays, there are so many useful things that we can find on the internet that tends to make everything automated and makes our lives much easier to manage.  I for one had relied so much on some Apps that's been helping me out with my daily tasks and finance records making me organized in no time. Likewise, my son had mentioned about these Baseball apps that he had seen from some of his friends and he just sounded like really interested. Surprisingly my daughter is much into sports too and had taken advantage of this Free IOS Sports app where she keeps herself updated with latest sports news, games schedules and statistics of the games she's interested in. Her favorite part too is that she can customize her own list of favorite teams and have a quick run through of all the activities and games of her favorite players.  Well, I support her with this of course and I even make myself available to listen to all her stories about her favorite teams and players and guess what? It was really fun!

Since most members of the family are into sports, I think it would be a great bonding experience watching CBS Sports network live online together in a relaxing entertainment room. I might consider the above design or incorporate my own style.  After all, designing a room is not all about beauty or functionality but a balance in between.

Designing My Own Bedroom

Even before I have started this home blog, I already love to design my own space.  I have developed this great love for interior decorating since I have started dreaming to build my own home.  I grew up with parents who did not have that passion for styling and beautifying homes. For them, functionality is more important than beauty but not in my case, I personally believe that I have to strike a balance in between.  If you could make it functional and at the same time pleasing to the eyes, that would be a lot better, right?

However, I am a practical person and I believe most Moms are and I have developed this great love for anything DIY.  Why not? it does not only bring out your creative juices but you get to save a lot of money in the process.  Who says that beautifying homes should only be limited to those who can afford?

Just recently, I have worked on completing my new master's bedroom.  it's on the second floor so I have the chance to have a small veranda where I can sit and relax and get some fresh air.  I was so fortunate that my eldest was here to assist me every step of the way.  He is such a big help in providing some ideas and doing some of the things himself.

This sliding glass door leads to my veranda where I plan to put up a coffee table and pocket garden.

I personally asked our handyman to fabricate s small table for me where I could do a little of office works. What you see in the picture is not the final thing yet.  As of this time, I have gradually introduced a lot of improvements.  I wonder why this appears to be too small in this picture.  Underneath, I would be putting up a personal ref.

The shape of the room is a bit odd because the space on the left side was taken away by the staircase so the whole room was no longer square.  But hey...that's the challenge,  right? Making every space functional is a must but the key is you don't have to lose your artistry.

This wall art was a joint effort from my two kids and I so loved it! It made my dull wall appear more interesting.

I'm not totally done yet but I will do the rest little by little. You know DIY decors take time. :)

I'll keep you posted!
